About Us

We are a family-owned Adult Foster Care Home with a deep passion for providing a safe, loving, and comfortable home for our residents. Our goal is to offer the support each person needs while always honoring their dignity, independence, and individuality.

What makes our home unique is the experience, compassion, and close-knit environment we provide. Michele Nixon, owner of Allegiance, brings more than 35 years of experience in adult care, with extensive knowledge in Alzheimer’s and Dementia care. She also teaches the Best Friends Approach throughout Oregon, helping educate caregivers on compassionate and effective ways to support individuals living with dementia.

We understand that every resident is unique, which is why we focus on individualized care tailored to each person’s needs, routines, and preferences. We want our residents to feel comfortable, secure, and truly at home from the moment they walk through our doors.

Our homes offer private rooms with some having individual bathrooms and a welcoming family-home atmosphere. We provide enriching daily activities designed to bring joy, engagement, and connection, including gardening, pet therapy, music therapy, baking, and personalized activities based on each resident’s interests.

One of the things families value most about our homes is the lasting relationships we build. Many of our Resident Care Managers and caregivers have been with us for over five years, creating consistency, familiarity, and trust for our residents. We become an extension of your family, maintaining close relationships and open communication with loved ones every step of the way.

Echoes of Care

“After spending many hours researching and touring different types of facilities (foster homes, residential care) we were fortunate to find Allegiance. Immediately after seeing the home and speaking with the owner, Michele, we knew it was the right place for dad. The home was large, light and cheerful. The private rooms were large enough for a bed and a family sitting area (love seat, end table, easy chair and small dining table with 4 chairs). Each room had a nice size private 1/2 bath with a larger shower room just down the hall. The staff at Allegiance treated us as family. We were in and out every day and had access to the well equipped kitchen, the beautiful sitting porch, the garage for medical equipment we weren’t currently using, and the extra day room for private time we needed. The entire team Allegiance was amazing! They prepared wonderful meals and accommodated dads changing dietary needs as requested. Michelle and the staff treated dad with gentle loving care every day/night he was there. He had a very challenging medical condition which they handled with patience and understanding. Our experience over the course of the six weeks dad lived there was as good as it possibly could have been under the circumstances. We were able to spend quality time with dad (walking in the beautiful park just next door and just being together). We would highly recommend Allegiance and the entire team there to anyone looking for a home away from home for their loved one..” - Jill Vaughan

"Excellent care and just overall great people who care about people. This was one of the first houses we toured when looking for care of my father and ended up placing him here because of the owner and care givers. They over delivered on communication and care and was very satisfied with service and just love and care they provided." - Brandon Frohberg

" Doing a great job with grandma" - Bmlessler

" If you are looking for a living home for your loved one this is the senior care you need to consider. I highly recommend Michele and all her staff. I have worked with this group for many years and they are professionals" - James Weldon

" Michele took care of my Mom at Harmony House in Salem, Oregon. My Mom had Alzheimer's and was taken such great care of that when she passed away, I felt she passed away at home. Michele and her family treated everyone like family." - Barbara
